Watching Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, FL

There are also shaded areas, picnic tables & benches located around the lake.

One of my number one features of Lakeland, FL, is Lake Hollingsworth… I’ve lived in the section for just over six years & I never get bored with the stunning natural beautify of this pristine lake, whether I’m in the mood to relax, unwind, cherish gorgeous scenery or get my heart pumping, Lake Hollingsworth is the ideal destination, but there is a paved walking & jogging path that circles the entire lake & covers just shy of three miles. I cherish running the path & taking in the breathtaking views of the water, vibrant orangeery & local towns. I see locals pushing meanderers, walking their dogs or jogging, and periodically I load my bicycle in the car. The paved path & flat terrain is awesome for cycling. If I don’t want to deal with hauling my bike, I can regularly rent one. It’s great exercise without hard impact on my knees, ankles & feet. Whether I’m walking, running or pedaling, I regularly watch for birds. I’ve spotted egrets, herons, ducts & even a bald eagle, then now & then, I’ll brin bonoculars & spend a few hours bird-enjoying. There are also shaded areas, picnic tables & benches located around the lake. If weather permits, I like to spend my suppersplit away from work at Lake Hollingsworth. Since the weather in Lakeland is moderate & sunny just about year round, there are lots of possibilities for kayaking & paddleboarding, but heading out on the lake is an interesting opportunity to explore the shoreline, soak up afternoonlight & cherish privacy & peace. The lake is a popular spot for fishermen because of the population of redgill, catfish & largemouth bass.
