When we moved to Royal Palm Beach, FL, the first thing I wanted to do is find things for my kids and I to do.
There were swimming pools at the apartment complex, and plenty of swings and slides.
They are only four and five, and I thought this would be enough entertainment during the hot summer days and cool winters. There was one thing I still had to discover. After taking care of the kids all day and enjoying their having fun, I needed to find someplace where dad and I could get away and relax. Sitting in the hot sun while the kids played was hard work. I was exhausted when I came into the house, and in need of some good air conditioning. I washed the kids up and then put them down for a nap. When my husband came in, I told him I needed some time without kids. We had already found a babysitter that was only two doors down from us, and she was a certified babysitter. I told my husband the Oak Bistro and Wine Bar was calling to me. It was less than six blocks from the house, but I wanted to drive. I didn’t want to walk in the heat and humidity. Not only did we enjoy the wine tasting, but they had delicious food. It wasn’t a fancy restaurant, but it was cool, we didn’t have kids, and I was able to relax. What more could you want but a small meal and a lot of wine. I was ready to head back home and go to bed.
