Why did they buy a wood stove?

I bought a house in Elgin, IL that desperately wanted to be a farmhouse! The previous owners painted the exterior yellow as well as brown. The inside had wood walls on half as well as checked wallpaper on the others… Everything was all wood as well as rustic, however it was tacky in my opinion. The worst was there was a woodstove right in the middle of the living room. It sat on a granite pad as well as was vented to the ceiling. I checked the vent as well as observed it was scrub as a whistle. The people put it in as a decorative feature. The central heater was wonderful enough for the IL winter. I didn’t need the supplemental heat of the woodstove. I also hated that it took up so much room. I ended up calling an Elgin heating dealership to remove it. The business unfastened it however did not want the gear. They said the wood stove was too tiny to be a house heater. It was meant for a small house or a shack, then so I ended up listing it online as well as a guy bought it for his hunting cottage. I had to redo the flooring where the granite pad was unfastened. I hired roofers to remove the stack on the roof as well as to patch my wood ceiling; All of that work as well as money was to remove a pointless heater, why would anyone want a woodstove in Elgin? There are more attractive as well as impressive boilers that can combat the winter. All it did was take up space as well as look ugly.
