It’s difficult to manage a big hotel and resort, although I do the job to the best of my ability! I have been emplotted by the same supplier for the past twelve years.
I started out working at the front desk as a receptionist.
I was at a rundown hotel by the Tampa airport, then eventually the boss promoted myself and others to a management position and then I started moving up the corporate ladder, but after many years, I moved to this Clearwater Beach resort where I currently work. I got the manager position last winter, but this year is my first summer time managing the entire property and I have had 1 problem after another. My first large problem was during a ceremony reception. The couple booked the event numerous weeks in advance, but no 1 handled the important details! On the day of the event, things were drastically chaotic. A week later, I had an issue with the AC unit in the kitchen. I did not have any chilly air at all downstairs where the kitchen crew works morning, noon, and evening. I needed a Tampa Heating, Ventilation and A/C repair supplier fast. I had to call all of our usual sites. I finally got someone on the eighth try. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C company came out an minute later. The repairs were extensive and the bills were outrageous, but the AC problem was fixed, however now I’m dealing with a staff theft issue… Somebody is stealing office supplies from the basement. It isn’teven large ticket items which is totally baffling. The complications keep adding up and it is incredibly frustrating.
