The new wharf restaurant was a little underwhelming

Spending the day in Santa Barbara can be a fun way to relax.

I prefer going to the beach, but my wife likes to spend the day at the wharf.

Stearns wharf is one of the coolest places in Santa Barbara. It has a little bit of everything. There are local restaurants, bars, shops, and tours. The wharf is a well known landmark in Santa Barbara county. Last weekend, my wife and I went to the wharf to try a new seafood place. Some friends of mine were raving about the lobster, so I was excited to try the surf and turf. My wife got the salmon crusted with pecans. We watched the people walking up and down Stearns wharf while we waited for our food to arrive. The staff was kind and courteous, but the atmosphere was a little stuffy. When the food arrived, I was underwhelmed by the presentation. The plate was a mess. For $48 bucks, I expected fine dining. Instead, I got a basket of food with paper napkins and a bib. We didn’t stay for dessert. When we were done with dinner, we stopped at a small pot shop before heading to our car. Dinner was a bust, but we weren’t ready to call it a night. We went into the recreational pot shop and picked out an infused marijuana joint to smoke on the walk home. I love living in a state with legal recreational pot access. By the time we got back to the house, we were both high and ready to eat everything in the fridge. I didn’t enjoy the lobster, but the leftover ziti from three nights ago was delicious.
