I recently moved to Plano, Texas for a change of weather.
I was sick of the northern cold weather conditions.
I wanted to experience a longer summer time season and a milder winter. I right away hit the horn and bought myself a great air conditioner for my Texas home. I figured the Texas summers were going to be long and brutal. I bought myself a high velocity air conditioner. It used smaller, versatile ductwork that was in the walls and ceiling of the house, however having perfectly controlled a/c was a relief. How the AC ran was more effective and better at lowering the house temperature, however after that, I decided not to buy a heater. How cold could Plano get? Turns out quite cold! I was shocked that a state so far south still gets a cold winter season season, however you can’t get by without a good heating system in Plano, but so the next step was researching a heater. I invested in hydronic radiant flooring since there was already a boiler in the basement, however the boiler had piping hooked to it and the pipes stretched throughout the floors. Hot water flowed through the boiler and then heated the floors as a result. It created quiet, even, and wash heat. I cherish having hydronic heating in my house. I was able to coast through the winter season season with my heated flooring system. I honestly like it much better than my air conditioner. I enjoy how quiet it is and how there are no hot and cold spots in the house. I just wish there was an AC option like heated flooring.
