My sister and I were on our way home from seeing a concert in Evansville.
- It was a 45 minute drive back to our house in vincennes.
We were on the back roads and it was very dark. I was trying to be careful. I was watching every part of the road. Somehow I missed a deer on the left side. The deer jumped out in front of my truck before I had a moment to react. I hit the deer with my truck and we collided with a huge impact. The radiator on my truck broke down and we didn’t have any heat at all. It was probably in the twenties outside that night and we were stuck on the side of the road. There wasn’t very good cell service, but I got through to my boyfriend and he came to rescue my sister and I. We were both frigid and cold by the time Jack arrived. Luckily he had the heat running on high. My sister and I warmed up very quickly after sitting in the heat for an hour. We had to have a tow truck driver from Evansville take the truck back to the house. The insurance company only paid for 12 miles, so my boyfriend and I had to pay the rest of the fees to the Evansville company. It cost me $190 to get the truck back to the house and the insurance company will probably call the loss a total. I don’t see much use fixing up the car after that accident. Nothing good happened that night after the temperatures got cold.
