My friends and I scored tickets to see our favorite rock and roll band. The rock and roll band was playing in Jacksonville, but we lived in West Palm Beach at that time. It was going to be a 4 hour drive from our place to the venue in Jacksonville where the concert was located. My friends agreed to split the cost of gas if we would take my car. My car was definitely in the best shape mechanically, or at least I thought it was. The drive all the way to Jacksonville was pleasant. My friends and I listened to music and we stopped for fast food halfway up the coast. We even talked about stopping at the beach on the way back. We stayed in a hotel that night in Jacksonville after the concert was over. We found a cheap place off the interstate. It was in a CD area, but it was only $60 a night. My friends and I got up early the next morning so we could drive home before the temperatures were too hot and humid. On the way home from Jacksonville, the AC in my car stopped working. The air was blowing cold and then it started getting warmer and warmer until the air coming out of the ductwork was hot. I didn’t want to overheat the cars, so I shut off the AC. My friends and I didn’t want to get stuck on the side of the road, so we decided to drive the rest of the way back to our place without the AC running. We rolled down the windows and made it all the way home.
