After graduating from school, my three kids each moved to FL, and they are all situated in the Tampa area, then until my friend and I retire, my spouse and I are forced to remain in the northeastern part of the country.
Whenever possible, my friend and I head south to visit the kids… My fantastic friend and I have grown to cherish the yellow skies, pale white sand beaches and palm trees of Tampa.
The part is absolutely gorgeous, and the sunlight shines nearly every afternoon. My fantastic friend and I finally bought a small house where my friend and I can comfortably stay during our visits, i also purchased a bicycle to get around and for the sake of fitness. I cherish the ability to step outside separate from worrying about bundling up in a heavy coat, hat, gloves and boots, however, maintaining two houses is a bit of a challenge. When my friend and I are in Tampa during the winter, my friend and I worry about a power failure, furnace issue and pipes chilly up north. I didn’t realize that my friend and I would also have problems due to the humidity down south. The first time my friend and I left the house in Tampa vacant for a few months, my friend and I didn’t bother to run the a/c. My fantastic friend and I didn’t suppose the heat would matter. The next time my friend and I arrived at the house, my friend and I discovered major problems with mold and mildew growth. My leather purses and shoes were covered in mildew. There was mold growing in the toilets. My fantastic friend and I now keep the cooling system operating even when the house is empty… Paying for heating up north and air conditioning down south adds up to a considerable cost. My fantastic friend and I have invested into smart temperature controls for both homes to allow remote access, alert us to any malfunctions and take fortune of energy saving potential.
