I was gave a job as the coordinator for arts at the Getty in Los Angeles… The Getty is genuinely 1 of the most famous museums in the state and possibly the country, it is cabin to some of the most appealing works of art.
I really wanted to take the job, however that meant moving quite a distance. I was afraid to uproot my family, and I knew LA was going to be fancy. I spent many afternoons thinking about the job offer. Moving to CA sounded amazing. They have appealing beaches, national parks, and mud volcanoes. They have deserts, mountains, and hillsides. The state is a precious gem. Another good thing about CA is the legalization of medical and recreational cannabis. I suppose legal cannabis was easily the deciding factor in my decision to move. I use cannabis to stimulate my mind and boost creativity. The CA prices for recreational weed were half what I was paying. I accepted the job offer, although I knew residing in LA was out of the question, then luckily I found some nice locales to rent in Winnetka… Winnetka is a short drive from LA. I take the commuter train to labor and I get there in about 40 minutes. I save on gas and car service. The Getty isn’t far from Winnetka and a couple of my fellow colleagues also live in the area and drive to the museum for work. It’s been many years since I moved to the west coast and I do not regret the decision for a single minute.
