Have you ever wondered which countries are ridiculous fashion spending who have the most fashion obsession with lots of apparel, bags, shoes stuffed in their closets? It is more than just the fact that women, in general, blows more money on clothes than men that keep the myth alive. Well, this topic about crazy splurges does not exclude the dudes. Little did we know that the ladies and gentlemen from Russia spends lots of money on apparel compared to other countries. The annual expenditures of Russians on apparel is over $1,540, talk about throwing the most cash on clothes! I was expecting Japan or Italy but never thought that the Russians scored A+++++++ on this one!
#2.AMERICAN´S SHOE ADDICTION
I am not surprised of this since the moment I discovered that an American man broke a Guinness world record of having the largest collection of sneakers in the world. I understand that men often couch their shopping in functional items such as shoes, but 2,388 separate pairs of sports shoes? According to a survey, each year an average American spends over $1740 of their disposable incomes on shoes. Common!
#3. NORWEGIAN WOMEN LIPSTICK OBSESSION
Why not a complete set of makeup and not just a lipstick? Or is this because Norwegian women are blessed with really subtle and rosy cheeks that they only want to pay much attention about their lips? Strange enough, lipstick has a bit of their budget pattern but it does have a share with the 31% of their expenditures. Weird.
#4. BRITISH MEN SPLASHES OUT MORE MONEY ON MAN BAGS THAN WOMEN
Women in all walks of life splashing out on the latest designer handbags is never shocking to anybody, but an increasing number of men shelling out £106 for a bag on average,- really? Are the market researchers sure about this? Market researchers say, although only one out of ten men carries a bag, the price tags of their bags are more expensive than women’s. Make sense, most women tend to look for cheaper High Street styles. Men on the other hand choose bags made by luxury brands.
#5. SAUDI ARABIANS LUXURIOUS JEWELRY SHOPPING
Back in the old days way back thousands of years ago, kings and queens of the middle east sit in a pile of sparkling pieces of jewelry and looks like that hasn’t changed. In the United Kingdom, market researchers have evaluated that the world’s biggest spenders on jewelry are Saudi Arabians. They spend an average of £4,500 on men’s watches alone and more on other branded accessories with each shopping trip.
I only have five for now, but I might add more when I find new consumer expenditure statistics.
